Composition course

The Composition Course acts in close cooperation with the performance courses to create a vibrant creative environment.

In addition to the major lessons, students can also freely opt to attend lectures on musical theory, given by many professors, as well as compositional method practice sessions. Students must attend the subsidiary piano course for the composition course, and practice to the high standard expected in performing.

The course also features a once-a-year exhibition of compositions, on-campus test performances arranged by the students themselves, performances by a student orchestra of works composed by students, and guests lectures given by renowned composers from both Japan and overseas.
